It's an interesting shot and can quite easily be cleaned up with Sharpening, Noise Reduction and some detail recovery.
More importantly, you took the time at this early hour to photograph something that appealed to you. Learning to see (photographically) is of primary importance. Congratulations.
Agree with snapshooter87..."seeing photographically" is what it's all about, and I can really tell what you wanted the picture to look like, so kudos for your effort. I can also tell ya from experience that trying to photograph the moon in the sky is one of the toughest things to do without big fancy lenses...I've tried many times over the years, but it never comes out looking like I want it to when I'm using a "regular" camera with a "regular" lens. Keep taking pictures!
