Boris just recently learned to write and therefore the message is short & sweet. I still remember good old times here and may be back one of these days ... Meantime I wish everybody a happy New Year full of just wonderful surprises !!!

Marzena, it's so thoughtful of Boris to leave a present in the yard, and sign it too. I'm often tempted to give the same offering, but don't have a dog. The tradition here is to leave the gift in a paper bag on a lucky person's porch, and lighting it to symbolize the Yule log. Then ring the bell and leave the flaming present behind to surprise the homeowner, who stamps it out while shouting the Lord's name. This is a lovely tradition that can be played year round.
