This is reminiscent of my older image Melting. Althoght i always liked that shot i was never very satisfied with it because the composition was weak, and the houses in the background wern't very interesting. Well today, almost a year later, i got another chance to photograph a melting day. So this time with my new macro lens in hand i went to a park where there would be some better subjects. Hopefully you all enjoy this one.

I sure do, Milo - wow.Very very nice. There is no reflection of the camera in the droplet tho! :-)

very nice, like the tree in the drop.. what would make this stronger to me is if you didnt have the snow showing in the background. 105 is pretty long, so it should be possible to avoid the snow. good job anyways, good timing, that water strand is pretty long. did you use a flash here?

I did use a flash, nice pick up carl. The tough thing about this shot was i was sitting inside a picnic hut perched on the side wall of it crouching under the roof. It was alittle ackward so i didn't work to hard at what was in the background for everyshot. More work was done maintaing my balance and holding the camera in place:P. Oh and when i got down i knocked the hanging snow down on top of me.

Well, I sure enjoy this one a lot. The reflection on the drop is what makes this special for me. Very well done.

Yep, pretty darn good! I love the timing. Must have taken a few dozen tries, no? I love the tree extruded in the top of the drop, and then upside-down in the bottom drop. Like your "Upside Down, Right Side Up" but more subtle... I like it!

So.. what lens did you get?? What's your setup? I'm always curious :)

This isn't too shabby at all. My only critique is the clarity of the ice. It could have been more crisp I believe. Otherwise nicely done.

How exciting: the fact that I was lucky enough to have this in Voting booth!
Gave a 10, then had to see who did it! Awesome! This really is fantastic!

I'm so glad this was a featured pic on the home page. I didn't start really paying attention to this site until last summer...ah...all the images I've missed. Well, this one is in my winter holiday rotating file for my screen saver, and just in time for this Christmas..It's beautiful :)PJ
