Severe storm Appleton, WI May 22nd 2011 For those that were wondering, there was almost rain when this was going over. In fact is was nearly 15 minutes later before the rain and hail started. I was safely inside and uploading photos when that happened. And no tornadoes, though I was understandably concerned about them while watching this pass over.

Oh my - I would never dare to even stand long enough to take this shot! It certainly reminds us of all the storm destruction we have seen lately - that is such a powerful image of the sheer power of nature. Run and hide!

Just gave this a well deserved 9 in the VB, Chad. With all the news about tornadoes, I thought that this might be one of the ones in Missouri or Alabama. Having grown up in Illinois when Illinois was the middle of "Tornado Alley", I tend to forget that Wisconsin gets its fair share of interesting weather. Just thought I'd stop by and say hello and note that I sometimes miss the "weather" but not enough to leave California.
