I love how this turned out. I revisited an image and played around with it in The Gimp, among other things I experimented with edge detection filters and eventually came up with the slightly 3d effect you see in this image at full size. The original shot was blue/black water with lemon highlights from the setting sun so this version looks really different to it's progenitor! The first few shots I took of this log were taken with me standing right "behind" it, so it stuck straight up into the images, then I reminded myself "angles, look for angles", took two steps to the left and hey presto, angle! I don't know why this appeals to me so much but it does... when I finished it and it looked like this I didn't exactly "swoon" but I was thoroughly chuffed.
