Rework of a fantastic original by Mike (Mikerkim) which you can find HERE. I loved what he had seen and how he had balanced the shot beautifully but the background distracted me from the purity of the sculptures. So I gave it a black bg, keeping it simple in keeping with the original, bit of dodging and burning to add a touch more dark and grittiness and changed the aspect to my normal wide screen ratio. This shot has great power for me, somehow there is a lot being evoked in those two heads. Thanks Mike for permission to post my rework, I just played in the sandpit you built mate. :)

Enjoy.

Mikel.

I've compared the original one with your rework Mikel. Although Mike has made, like you are saying, a fine 'sandpit', like to say however that you've done a perfect job. Your rework has more depht and is more dramatic too.

After reviewing Mike's fine photo, you did a great remake on this. You have added more emotion (if it was possible) to these statues. Simply amazing job!

Great Job, Mikel! I definitely like your version better. Thanks for the rework. It helps me to consider other options to my processing. Had to fave it.

Thanks again, my good friend!

Fantastic rework; the two have become magnetic with your simplification of the scene.

Very nice! I do like both versions very much. I do feel the darker background and effects added isolate and highlight the couple from the rest of the statue very well. Dramatic and evocative.
