This morning down the east end of Lake Burley Griffen at a spot called Molonglo Reach. I"ve got some other shots from this spot in my gallery using the little Canon S3IS, this shot and the next few are the Pentax K20D and the DA* 16-50. Due to phenomenally heavy rains the last few weeks the lake has a lot of driftwood in it, I tried to incorporate it in the comp rather than looking for lines of sight that contained no drifts, as that was pretty hard to manage.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

PS you can see the morning a few minutes later from a different perspective in the image Sunday Morning Gold.

That's a cracker Mik!....The gorgeous sunset leaving its reflections is a beaut!..

I agree about leaving the driftwood in...adds to the image

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

And a beautiful Sunday morning it is! I love the purple and blue colors in this shot, with that dash of orange and yellow on the horizon. You can almost sense the movement in those clouds as they drift slowly overhead. The driftwood adds a nice touch to this photo, and I'm glad you left it in. Very well done, Mikel!

Lots of pretty pastels in this one with a variety of tree forms as silhouettes. Good capture of the available light.

A nice capture of this sunrise scene. What a magnificent scene to greet the morning. Good colours and composition of the shot. I like the reflection and smoothness of the water and softness of the photo. Good work.

I like the driftwood contrasting the misty watered reflections. I too seem to sense the movement as the sky moves sideways. Always interesting the way rains or tides make the same place different. A pleasure!
