Another shot from Cooleman Ridge. Last photo in my folder! Oh No. I must rush out and find some virgin territory to visually plunder and pillage. Phht, maybe later......
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
"visually plunder and pillage"? Hell, what's the point in that. This property needs some gang tagging using florescent paint. I've been reading (yeah, I know - you and everybody else thought I was illiterate) some articles on composition; so I now consider myself an expert on the subject. For example, did you know that the horizon line should always be in the upper or lower third of the shot? So you've done well. However, I might have gone with more land and less sky. It's a nice pretty blue sky, but the boulders and the dry grasses are dynamite. Just my casual observation and opinion. You sure do have some purdy spots in your neck of the woods.
I'm not sure what to say about all the pillaging and plundering and virgins... You must have a really good time there in Australia! Nice shot Mikel but I too think that more land and less sky might have been a little better for this particular scene. I would crop it to a pano cutting it off just on the edge of the big rock in the foreground, leaving the left side intact and keeping a third of the sky. But you have very nice lighting and good clarity on the rocks. It is a lovely scene :) 'Lisa
I like your vantage point looking toward the ridge line. Fascinating colors and contrasts here. My first thought was walking up there near sundown must provide an amazing place to sky watch.
Great forground interest in this and the eye leads to yonder delights
