This was taken last evening out of my window. This is the Beaufort Sea at the top of Alaska by Prudhoe Bay. Everyday it looks different from the floating ice.
Gosh it must be awful cold up there. It would be nice to have a different view every day though. It’s a fascinating photo for me because it’s so very different to anything we have over here.
"The more we come in contact with animals, and observe their behaviour, the more we love them, for we see how great is their care for their young." - philosopher Immanuel Kant
Great shot. Is the ice just starting to form? Love the gray colors because it makes me cold just to look at it. This will look good on desktop. Might save it for July though. Thanks for posting.
Lovely shot, but I know your secret.....and that is that you are on your way soon to Mexico..dig your toes in and send the rest of unfortunates your results
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
My fingers have gone numb just looking at this. Superb landscape and very alien to most of us. The lighting and colours you've captured it in are very effective too.
