Taken from Kenai Beach in Alaska looking South. It was a glorious day with the sun shining (got a little bit of glare on the lens), but I thought it added so much to the picture. Comments welcome & appreciated.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
Very nice composition. The water looks so calm and peaceful. I kind of like the glare in the picture, but it would have looked nice without it too. Great work!

Glare? Couldn't find the glare, did find a contrail. :) This is an interesting, almost forbidding shoreline and I'm glad you mentioned that it was in Alaska...where the land seems to be younger than the rest of the North American continent. Technically, you have divided the picture into halves, dark and light (on a diagonal), and I think more shoreline and less water would work. I love the various blues, and those clouds are showing me a high, chilly wind. I am drawn into the challenging feeling of this scene, which (to me) is the essence of Alaska.
I think we're slipping a bit to the left, but other than that, I like this composition.
