Welcome to Dodge City KS. I took a car trip to this Wild West town several weeks ago to attend the 60th anniversary of Gunsmoke-a very famous TV western here in the States that ran from 1955 to 1975. The star Marshall Matt Dillion was my childhood hero. He was the U.S. Marshall of Dodge City in the TV program. I dont know if this program was seen overseas or not. I have always wanted to visit this town but never made it through there in my 19 years of trucking. Dodge City in its heyday was lawless and wild. Not many of the original buildings remain-well not any that I know of. A replica of the town has been built-an older replica having burnt down. So this first image is looking down the boardwalk. By the way-all pictures on this trip were taken with my iPhone 6plus 8 meg camera. I took along my Canon Mark III and never used it once. Here is image number one from my trip.

Gunsmoke was a family must back in the day. I used to love Festus. It is still in syndication and I get to watch it...and still enjoy it. Great looking shot of good old Dodge City. Well done, Pat.

I know almost for sure Momma, that you didn't have only your cameras with you, but your shotgun as well. Although you've said in your narrative that it was a car trip, I've still in doubts whether you've made this trip really by your car or a horse, lol.

Promising image for the rest of this series Pat. I'm very curious.

Thanks already for this one.
