This info board that was put up in Dodge City for the public to read has some interesting comments about life in Dodge. There are about 4 more postings to go and then I'll be done with this series. (What? did I hear cheering?)

I actually read all that! I think that if I had lived back then, I would have been from the south side. With 17 saloons in town, that means that the entire population could have been out drinking at once, if they could fit about 59 customers in each one. LOL.

Things like what happened to Marshal Masterson happen even today. Interesting reports here.

Momma, I've read: "City marshall Edward Masterson disarmed a drunken young cowboy. The Texan pulled a hidden gun and shot Ed in the abdomen, setting the lawman's clothes on fire."
The finally result was that both the cowboy and the marshall died.

Pat, compared to that situation it seems (of course with exceptions) that we have a rather dull life now, lol. Gaming on internet is the only thrill. But for me, let's keep it that way!

Excellent series!

I found this really interesting, and Edward Matterson sure did not last long after taking the job of Marshall, those were rough times, I can't imaging what they would think about our world now. I like the series. tigs=^..^=
