In the middle of a bustling city, just a few blocks from my hotel, you suddenly run across farmland. The owner, Sari, grows plants. I met her one day as I walked back to my hotel. She signaled "walking" and "thumbs up," so I stopped to chat. While she invited me to come by for coffee anytime, I decided it would not be productive when she asked me my name and where I was from twice in a row. I got the impression she just had some English phrases memorized. Still, she grows some beautiful plants.

A welcome sight to these tired of winter eyes Jeff. Do you speak their language fluently?

I speak neither Balinese or Indonesian -- not even a little bit. Fortunately, Depansar is a city focused on tourism and Kuta, in particular, focuses on Australian tourists, so English is prevalent.

The light and shadows make for a very interesting picture Jeff.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
