While I am used to seeing irises in gardens, it is startling to find an iris blooming out in the woods, though they have to have originated somewhere. In Pickett State Park in Tennessee.

I've seen them before but not often - a lovely color on this one - I've seen most white or yellow.

Probably you've used your flash gear, Jeff, because the lighting is exceptional good, resulting in a good outdoors flower capture!

Thanks, but I very rarely use a flash. I prefer natural lighting and this flower just happened to be in a beam of sunlight.

What a lovely find for you in the wild. I quite frequently see the orange variety of lilies along the shoulders of roadways. Maybe this is some of the same sort of thing going on here. Good capture, Jeff!
