Paul, by watching this very fine photograph, this comparison came into my mind.
The partly submerged whale has somewhat the appearance of a patrolling submarine, while it's observed by a naval aircraft, aka seagull, 😁 .
I wonder however how and where you have taken this image.

The annual migration south along the Australian East Coast is now taking place. Pods of whales and their calves are taking a leisurely route hugging the shore and bringing delight to many observers. Your photo reminded me it's time to head to the beach.
