Paul, you're right with your narrative. In my more than 35 years lasting maritime career, I've learned too that the sea has many many faces. From gentle to cruel. Weak as child but strong as a bear too. The appearance can change withing a split moment. That's the reason, although I'm retired now for already many years, that I still have respect and admiration for this everlasting phenomenon.
