It would be pity to lose the red ones in unequal battle with the grey, ferocious swimmers:) After all they have swum across the Atlantic and are five times as big... This sweetie here is carrying something in its mouth too, maybe that is why it stopped, fearing to lose it... This year I saw just one single squirrel in our area. Not that we frequented forests too much this year, for fear of TicKs - oops, I mean ticks, the common horror ticks. SAM & SAAB

Good shot,Raj. Looks like he has a peanut in his mouth. The much larger Grey and Black squirrels here are completely dominated by the tiny Reds. One Red will chase off any number of the other big squirrels. They are also a protected species here.
The wee squirrel really looks it's doped up ready to tackle the whole world!
