According to wiki: on the Friday of the International Four Days Marches Nijmegen, as participants near the finish, the public awards the walkers with gladioli, a symbol of force and victory since Roman times, when gladiators were likewise showered with these flowers. The entry into the city and towards the finish, the St. Annastraat, is for that reason called Via Gladiola during the Nijmegen Marches.
Thanks for this very fine Foofy Friday image, my friend!

Always have loved gladiola - seem as if we always had a vase of them in the house in August when I was a child - these are my favorite color too Raj - lovely!
Those glads are wonderful Raj - love the color(s) - they're a nice hardy flower and hold up as well - very nicely composed and presented - Great Capture!!!!!!!
