Hello, Marissa...
The art of photographing flowers has escaped me. Many of my Caedes friends can do it very well, but I'm not one that has had much success. I'll tell you what I think they would tell me.
Very interesting color contrast work with the pink flower surrounded by mixed and dying vegetation - so good idea. However, I would suggest the following:
1) Get rid of the date stamp.
2) If the bloom is the main subject of your composition, don't let all that growth block your subject. Move a few weeds aside if necessary.
3) The flower seems slightly unfocused (very typical of my shots). It appears that the vegetation directly behind the flower is clearly in focus.
4) Crop the top part of the photo and maybe a little from the bottom. It's just busy stuff that detracts from the flower.
Excellent idea, pretty good composition, nice colors.
There is just something beautiful about a catus flower.
I gotta agree with Roger in some points. The date stamp really takes away from the photo. Maybe crop these out. Also, the green plants infront really take away from seeing the beauty of the flower. Just remember what the focus of photo should be.
