I am pretty excited about this rosebush. I had seen her pretty bloom smiles on TV shows and thought how pretty she was. At our rose show this year, the featured speaker was one of the owners of High Country Roses. He brought along several roses to give away as gifts to those attending. I was honored and delighted to get one of those gifts and it was the rosebush named Awakening. She is what is called a sport of the rosebush named New Dawn and dates back to 1935. So special to see her bloom smiles in my rosebeds and to be able to enjoy her wonderful fragrance.... She is a climbing rosebush. Thank you for your views and comments.

A beautiful photo. The color tones and detail are excellent. The gravel/ framing create a fine composition.

Very very beautiful - both the rose and the photo Stan. Your presentation suits it to perfection.
How lovely to get such a gift, and how lucky is the rose, it will be so well cared for.

I have 'New Dawn' :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Just a note. The background is natural as I use Colorado Rose Stone gravel as the mulch around my roses. So it provides a completely natural backdrop for the photos.

Delta Dawn is as attractive as Tanya Tucker, Ace. A true beauty of a shot.

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun

Stan, I like the way she looks open, but the bud in the middle looks to have so very many petals yet to open. Lovely, very lovey rose.
