The water in the forest lake is clear but the color is dark brown. In the shadows of the coniferous forest it looks almost black. It makes the lake look abysmal and mystical. Lakes like this has inspired many writers and composers. Many people say that these kind of lakes in the forest makes them feel wistful or sad.

Susanne, Your narrative was so well written. I love the dark tones with a bit of light play. My kind of image. Beautiful.

I'd say mystical is a great word for this place. The dark forest behind the lake looks very eerie but it still is so beautiful!

Mystical, magical, fantastical is what it is. The reflections are gorgeous, and the deep greens, and darkness of the water gives it it's special look. Well done, Susanne.

Both beautiful and somber. I like Elizabeth's word... ethereal. And somehow timeless.
