I hope you guys don't mind. I've always had a fascination w/ this painting. The credit, of course, goes to Georges Seurat (1884).

We should all have such time to relax! My kindergarten teacher always told us to sit on our "bustle bumpers". Perhaps she should have also displayed this painting in her room. That was a tough one for a 5 year old to figure out. ;) I now have a Sunday afternoon desktop paper. Thanks Sam.

ah.. I know this painter Seurat..... its a "punkturist" he uses only little dots to make the whole painting. In programs like painter and maybe photoshop or paintshop There might bee a brush or a effect/filter called after this painter Seurat.

Have you seen "Sunday in the park with Georges" by Steven Sondheim; it´s about the painter(Georges Seurat) and this painting, quite good actually

beautiful. pointillism is really a fine art. but it can only be truly admired when in real life so we can go up close and see the dots separate. thanks for the pic.

The original name of the painting is "Un dimanche après-midi à l'Ile de la Grande Jatte" or "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte"
