I have been reflecting on my Dad who passed away 2 years ago this Dec. We use to spend many a day under trees by the lakes doing (what we called) fishing. He always said that we didn't go fishing to catch fish and we didn't need a boat. I'm sure some of you will know what that means.

Anyway....Not to bore you anymore, but I hope you enjoy.

I also like to remember the good times with my Dad. Paul, you have an outstanding image here. I love the colors, and the reflections, and my old eyeballs detect a slight Norton work. The small fishing boat makes this shot that much more enjoyable. Very nice.

Nice shot, Paul.

The anniversary of my own father's passing was just a short time ago.

And for some reason that escapes me now, I am reminded of the film, "A River Runs Through It".

That aside, and I don't mean to be dispassionate with what is to follow ... as I really enjoy the composition of your photo here.

Perhaps, just a tad brighter?

Just a tad, mind you. Wouldn't wish to see the emotion of the subdued lighting completely disappear. Not at all.

And simply some creative food for thought, that's all.

I will reiterate this though ... nice work.

And add this ...

But of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)

It is obvious that a lot of thought went into this one Opie. It is right at the top of your presentations. I like it darker because it seems to convey your mood.

It will be five years tomorrow that my father died. This post I found especially pleasing. Love the reflections and the colors. Go drown a worm in honor of your dad.

This is a simply lovely fall shot with a really well written commentary - the darkness helps the small boat standout. I like this very much.

This is just beautiful, Paul. I don't think of there being such vivid color in Alabama. I think it's good that you share your thoughts of your dad with us and by no means are your words boring. I think I know what you mean about not needing a boat.

Great colour and tranquillity captured, appropriate for your current reflective state of mind. I like things dark so how it is suits me but I can also see how a bit more light might produce just as pleasing a version of this shot. Maybe a gentle S curve in the curves tool?
