A shot I took whilst wandering through a woodland in Gloucestershire a few years ago. We were visiting a mansion but the countryside around us was lovely.
The upload as a whole is very nice and I love the composition; however, I feel that it's a bit hazy in the background and perhaps tinted a bit too purple/blue? esp on the tree trunk. But that's of course a matter of personal taste. You've certainly created a mood of contemplation and given us a special glimpse of nature !

Dear Bonnie,
you know what I like about this shot?
It is NOT about wandering through a woodland in Gloucestershire.
It is about the beauty of nature. A sight that could be witnessed just about everwhere in the world. The photo beholds no landmarks or any sign of recognision that leads to one particular place.
And in my view that is the strong point of this picture.
It says: get out of your lazy chair, take a day off and go out to explore nature.
It is also a picture that most every serious photographer must have tried to shoot in his own close surroundings. And most every photographer must have felt dissapointed with the result, because it is actually quite difficult to capture the essence of tranquility.
And, if I may say, yours is not perfect either, but you come very close. I love this picture and I can just image how you must have felt `whilst wandering through a woodland in Gloucestershire a few years ago`.
Great post!
Paul
Bonnie...I just want to say that I totally agree with Paul above. I frequent nature preserves all the time trying to capture the beauty you have captured here...and more often fall short of what I want. you do have a gift of a great phtographic eye or artist's eye...gerry

I love the way you've framed it, I would have been tempted to have the branch higher but that would have taken away from the form of the tree.
