One of the many relics of Cornwall's industrial past that decorate our landscape, this is the engine house at Smith's Shaft, West Wheal Frances mine. (Bal = mine, jynjy = engine house) 12th April '04.
"When I think of God, I think of what I can see, smell, taste, feel and benefit from; then I walk outside. I will not be contolled by any religion, I will simply bathe in the warmth of the sun and take within me, the sweetness of the earth. This is the only God I know and I will NEVER fear him!"
Thanks all :-) You're right, mum42, Charlotte Bronte was quite a long way from here but I can see what you mean about a Wuthering Heights feel to it...
Very nice shot. I really like the softness in contrast and the sepia-like tone. The sky looks almost as if it is photoshopped in to me. Or is that my imagination? If not then you did a very, very nice job in framing the picture from a low viewpoint to hide all surrounding landscape. Oh, and did you do any perspective correction or use an PC lens? Just wondering...
Thank you both. The only corrections were brightness/contrast, and unsharp mask, although I did have to clone out a bit of graffiti. The landscape drops away behind the building making the framing easier. Thanks again :-)
I've been looking for an image just like this for an image edit. Wolld you mind if I use it.
