Thanks all. I think the next effort in this area will be "Guitarhenge" using similar filters and multiple guitars. Something about a guitar that's in stasis. They look so swkward when they're not being played. Even though it's a bit rough, I like it because it's an effective desktop nevertheless. Let's see your axes if you have 'em!
I used several plugins. For the background I used a desktop I already had made. I took a picture of clouds and added a very simple fractal to it. The fractal was made using, "Mind Boggling Fractals." It's a deceptively complicated program. Anyone can use it, but to get the effects you desire takes some practice. Once I layed the fractal on the background I took another picture I took of my guitar. The picture of the guitar is untweaked. Just a plain ol' digital photo. The water was added with the Flaming Pear plugin called, "flood." It really is pretty simple if you take the time.
maximus, maximus, maximus. they call for you.
the genral who became a slave,
the slave who became a gladiator.
the gladiator who defied an emporer.
striking story, but now the people want to know how the story ends.- taken from 'gladiator' spoken by 'commodus'

Great pic, hate to be a downer, but are you sure thats a Gibson? The finish and type of wood used is very unusual, and the pearls on the fretboard are square, and not trapieze. Just wonderin!
Yes, it's a 1977 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with Natural maple top and a maple fretboard. Very rare, they made about 300 of these. 300 with a black finish and the maple fretboard as well. You can see them on eBay from time to time.

This is really a great picture (and a beautiful guitar!), maybe the next step would be to make the guitar look wet, like it has just risen from the water? Dont drown your guitar, though ;)
