Carol, I think you have found a special niche as a fine photographer of flowers. I never know the names either, but I have even more problems with the photography than not knowing their names. It's typically pretty windy here from hay fever season all the way through fire season. I think it's Mother Nature's way of telling the human population around here to suffer and then burn. Anyway, my point is that most of my flower shots are in 25 mph winds. Anyway, that's my excuse for now.
Any time you can shoot a flower in direct sunlight and have such fine detail that the texture of the petals is so remarkably visible, you have a winner in my book. For your own future reference, I checked this flower in Dottypedia, and it's a blossomus purplectrium.
Excellent colors, depth of field, wonderful clarity and focus. And I don't mind saying "Great shot"
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
