Found this old model car in the woods as I hiked through some years ago. It has sat there quite a while. I thought there was still some beauty in it.

Carol, referring to your narrative, I had expected a rusty car, but it's on the contrary.
Two possibilities: either its quality (in particular the paint) was good or the atmospheric conditions in this wood (low humidity) was optimal to conserve this car.
