Read your accompanying narrative, and then.. thought to myself.. has Tom been drinking again?
.... ...
I keed, I keed.
It's my poor eyesight that could not pick up the woman initially. That, and.. I kept looking in the shadows covering the path. Since, logically, to my pea brain.. path.. that's where people would be pushing such things as a stroller.
Right, carrying on past my nonsense and back to your image here..
I like how you composed this one, Tom. Colours are natural.
Caveats?
Outside of a differing time of day, to soften the light.. I do think that you could work towards opening up the shadows.. some. And conversely, taking the highlights down.. some.
Something along the lines of this (hope you don't mind):
Made my initial adjustments with respect to Shadows and Highlights.. and once satisfied. duplicated that Layer. Did a Black and White adjustment, switching that Layer's Blending Mode to Luminosity.
You can fine-tune the individual Colors, if you wish.. and watch in real-time as you experiment on the effect the changes you make on the individual Colors.
This time.. default worked pretty well. Deepened the greens a bit more than simply that of the Shadows/Highlights.
(/\ This was all done in Photoshop.)
That said..
I am thinking that this has to be from an early time in the year?
Just curious.
Nice shot and.. but, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.
(The bonus "Where's Waldine?" game.. at least for me.. was fun. ;o) )
Ain`t been drinking much lately Les. ha. This was taken in June , should have mentioned this , at Peacefield , a photo that I posted from that time. This is the old stone library next to the main house. I liked this but held back and messed about with some B&W images that I did not find inspiring. The light was very bright and I got a lot of darker areas , camera settings not quite right like ISO 200 for one. You improved this for sure , I like what you did. Your adjustments are beyond my reach in both equipment and knowledge.
I seen both versions(compared side by side on duals) and not that much difference for all the fuss. lower the exposure a tad, little contrast poof! maybe i should give it crack? ok, cracked open the bourbon, pouring a drink now. thats better! niiiice! what were we taking about anyways? yeah, the Adams family Tom met...cool!

Nicely done Tom, for me I don't see too much difference, but perhaps I have had too much to drink or maybe not enough. Lol! Both are very good in my opinion. tigs=^..^=
