I rendered it further but the result seemed duller than this earlier, brighter 'test' version. I'm thinking now I made a mistake... but other wallpapers are beckoning now.

Your render here is excellent to me, but I'm not a fractal artist. I love the design, and the color combo, with what I think offers very good contrasts. tigs=^..^=
