At the Athens Zoo, was not able to capture these little birds as I had hoped for. Got this only when they were walking away. Gosh, I truly admire the skill of photographers that can catch the scene as they wish. Glad to be back, have had a busy summer. Appreciate any comments, especially on how to snap the photo faster! Thanks.

Think that even a skilled photographer has to deal with disappointments in this matter.
As for your capture: I think the zoo doesn't allow to feed the animals, otherwise it might had been a bit easier for you to photograph them, so you've achieved the most possible result. Good one however!

I laughed Vicki because I can't count how many shots I've lost of birds, butterflies, insects or animals that just don't work out! It happens to all of us but at least you did get them as they wee walking away - I end up with empty air sometimes.

Not easy.. but.. capturing and composing your shot with that dividing line of shadows.. makes it work to my eyes.
