At the mouth of the Tchefuncte River this little lighthouse guided boats from Lake Pontchartrain into Madisonville. It is being restored.

Just beautiful Colleen. The colors are unusual and haunting. I would have liked to have seen a little more of the water, which would have moved the lighthouse to the right and out of the center, but that is just being picky. Great work.

Tchefunte is pronounce Chee funk taw. It is an Indian name. Native American Indians lived here before the Europeans came in and took all their land.
