This bird fascinated me from the first time I photographed it. Its very distinct nostril clearly separated it from all the others in the rookery. Its mannerisms were very elegant and royal.

Wow, what a great clear shot, you can see right through the beak at the "nose" holes are. I do agree he/she looks very royal and special. Great work.

They are such unique birds, so majestic. I love your photos so very much. I can always tell how sensitive you are to the Louisiana things, and I miss that area very much. I miss the people more than anything. That nest is just huge....thank you for your photos, I love them a lot. Verena
