I had posted this a while ago but it seemed that it wasn't quite right. I have taken a different angle that seems sharper and clearer. This bloom is found in the high elevations and is not usually quite this large. It was just an awesome find among the dreary, dull surroundings. I thought it needed to be posted again. Input always appreciated!

I have never seen any like these, but they sure are beautiful and bring some color to the surroundings. A great find and photo!

They look well rooted Vanda. I can see why the name. I bet they look awesome after a snow.
Glad you reposted.

Snow Flower AKA Wildfire? Doesn't one cancel out the other? I mean, the snow would put out the wildfire, and the wildfire would melt the snow. I'm confused! (A Common occurrence.) LOL. Beautiful shot, Vanda. Excellent color and clarity.

What an unusual looking plant Vanda. Not only the flower but the whole plant is the same brilliant red. They really stand-out. ...Ed

It's fascinating to see such bright color in the brown soil. That really is a most interesting flower and I like that there is a little bud that has fallen from it and is resting there on the ground.

What a strange flower. It's a splash of color against the terrain.

That is such an amazing and strange looking flower with bare ground all around, I have never seen anything like it before Vanda!
