At Sandhill Crane Wildlife Refuge. I never see the cranes but many smaller birds that seem to always spook me on the backside of the trail. Sadly they don't open the gates to this isolated area before 9 am so it's always bright.

Love the incorporation of maturing cypress with the pines. The lighting is very good, I wonder the quality of a sunset in this same setting/spot?

Such a pretty view here. Get to know the people who take care of the place well and once they know you, try to get them to give you a special dispensation to get in early! lol Your image makes me want to get closer to that patch of blue in the distance.

Bright but very well taken. It is not easy to get this kind of shot but you have managed it very well. This is a beautiful area and I like your composition with the tiny blue splash of water in the distance. Very well done!

Elizabeth, I like the double tree line on the right side of the page and the strong tree line on the left side. All three of these diagonals draw me into the further depths of your picture.

A beautiful nature scene Elizabeth. Great colour and clarity in this well captured image. The reason you don't see the sandhill is because there down here on vacation. They wake me up at 6:30 every mourning with there Squawking as they fly over. That Wildlife Refuge looks like it should be full of critters. Great post and Thanks for sharing.

I like bright. Seems like it's always overcast when I go out. It looks like it would be hard to get down by that stream, but maybe since it is a wildlife area, you're not allowed down there. Nice colors and comp in this shot, Elizabeth.

I'm glad they DON'T open the gates early...let the alligators catch the frogs and fish for breakfast before getting ideas about a human foot! Nice tack-sharp picture and I love the glimpse of the blue water.
