This is one of the docks at my husband's hotel. As you can tell it was extremely windy out and it caused the water to be choppy on side while the dock created a calm side on the other. The water on the dock was from the pressure of the wind pushing the waves up. It was a hit or miss on water when trying to walk down the dock.

What a difference a dock makes. lol I see exactly what you describe, Adrienne. The image has a fine perspective on the dock and the water is so deep blue. The clarity is very good as well.

I suspect this is just one of many great views at this location Adie. I like the way the dock leads us into the photo.

Very good photo of the place, the waves look very good, very nice lighting, the blue of the water is very nice, pleasant sky too.A few spots can be seen at the top of your photo, there could be dust on your camera sensor or lens,it could be water too.

The vignetting really enhances the image. It helps the white gazebo to pop out of the scene. Great composition as well in this. :)

I like all the various shades of blue going on here as well as the look of the choppy VS calm waters! This is a very nice looking little dock and I bet its really nice on a warm summer night. Great shot

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling.

Arresting picture and thanks for the explanation. I can see the chop on the left and the calm on the right, and the choppy water beyond the deck on the right.

Cool shot. Those waves make for a very interesting contrast. The dock looks like a wonderful place to sit on a hot day.
