What a powerful shot. Somehow saying "good job" or something similar doesn't seem appropriate because of the devastation that had to take place in order to capture such a photo.
I agree with the others and can't think of any better words than dramatic and powerful to describe this. It accomplishes what a good photograph is supposed to -- it makes you think and it makes you feel. By the way. I hope you were using a zoom lens for this shot...not a nice place to get too close to. :)
That is a fantastic shot. It really captures the lengths these heros go thru to help - the ice on the overturned chair and the steam really sing of how cold it is, but hes out there anyways. A great shot of a great subject - keep it up!
Thank you for the tribute to firefighters Andrew. I am the Mom of a FF/Paramedic. You have captured the essence of their job very well.I see that you are a Police Officer. I tip my hat to you also for putting your life on the line every day to save us from ourselves!!
Excellent capture & thank you :))
"Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual."
Edward Weston
A photo tribute.
I've been in his situation. The cold is numbing and the smell of wet, burn wood permeates every pore on your body. At the end you just ache. He will live to fight another fire. It appears that he bested this one.
I just wanted to thank all of you for posting here. Although many years have passed since I put this picture on the site, I still visit often. As a police officer, I have had opportunities to see things that most could not possibly imagine. Perhaps I will submit more in the near future and share what we do. Our work is often exciting, yet heart breaking when we see how good people suffer during tragedy.
As a Police Officer, I have many opportunities to capture unique pictures. I like to share the world from my eyes with hopes that others can see what we do.
