I really like this - and your interpretation reminds me of a short story I wrote in high school which terrified everybody who read it except me. I had meant it to be rather calm and peaceful but evidently miscalculated rather badly!
I see you disagree with theories which attribute "grey matter" to everyone and presumably subscribe to a more colourful alternative. Or maybe these are alien brains...? Certainly makes for a more cheerful desktop. Doesn't it seem that we might make less of a mess of the world if we knew we had rainbow-coloured thinking matter rather than the grey kind?
OK, maybe not, but it is still prettier.
