As I was leaving Bankhead National Forest I saw this lovely butterfly on the side of the road. Whipping out the point and shoot and fired several shots before it flew off into the forest. I really didn't have any time to compose a perfect placement of the butterfly but I'm happy with this and the other wide open wingspread shots that I managed to capture. I'm glad I got the natural surroundings that it was interested in. Most likely by now these wild weeds have paled from this beauty...or not who knows...it's only been a week.
One does not see such colours too often.
The flowers are just thistle. Who would I be not to know that...? After all my middle name is Eeyore. LOL
