Wild blue phlox is a distant ancestor of the garden phlox. It was taken back to Europe by early settlers, cultivated there, and brought back as a garden plant. - See more at: lakemetroparks.com/parks/SpringWildflowers.
The wild blue phlox is very pretty Frank!!! Phlox is my absolute favorite flower be it wild or garden variety - in fact, the garden area in front of my house is filled with phlox. The flowers bloom from mid May until late summer - they have a lovely scent and attract butterflies and hummingbirds!!! You captured the wild phlox beautifully!!!:-):-):-)!!!:-):-):-)
