Done a comparison between the two cameras. The £1.300 canon 7D on the left and the £550 Nikon D90 on the right. Both shot at the same ISO,Shutter speed F8.All setting as near as i could get..With the canon i used their Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM £550. With the Nikon D90 I used a Tamron 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di VC £360. I'll let you decide.. And now I'll just concentrate on what i have..

Lighting: Mellow on the left and brighter on the right. Sharpness : concentration on the bird and surroundings on the left - overall sharpness on the right.

No contest really, Richie. The Nikon/Tamron combination wins hands down - and you save £910 too! Nice duck!

I'm with you, so you know which one I like best. Nice of you to compare the two to show us. I like the bright vivid colours. Keep shooting, and enjoy your new equipment.

This is an argument that cannot be resolved by such comparisons as above. There are too many other additional factors not accounted for in your narrative. Your happy with Nikon? That's what counts. I'm happy with Canon, and that's what counts. Bob's happy not having to change lenses? That's what counts. Meanwhile, the camera and lens manufacturers get richer and richer!!!

I have to say that I like the cannon a little better. But that is my personal opinion. The colors and lighting look a little more natural.

It's a tough choice Richie! Agree with Pat about personal preference. The human eye sometimes likes the vibrant color of the one on the right~but natural color is also quite beautiful. They are close in sharpness and detail. And of course the photographer is an excellent shot! :)Ami

From this test the Nikon wins hands down Count B. However I think you are prejudiced and want this result. If you are happy let it go.

Comment unto one another as you would have them comment unto you. If you like comments, you need to comment some yourself.

How much did you have to shell out for modeling fees for this photo shoot?
Without a doubt the photo on the right has the sharpness, clarity and saturation of colours that are pleasing to the eye. But then again we've been trained by the advertising world to expect that look in a photo.
A couple of nice captures and thanks for sharing.
