Shot in RAW converted In Adobe Photoshop..The Original Image was pitch black...There's a lot that can be done with a RAW Image.. .Grey squirrels were brought over as pets In the Victorian era..They were first released in the UK in 1876 in Henbury Park, Cheshire. It's not clear why they were introduced and the Victorians had no idea of the risks of introducing non-native species..They don't attack our native reds but carry a pox which the reds have no defence against..Greys are non existent in Scotland because of the Polecat population..Polecats find them easier to catch than the more agile Reds....R.

I too don't use raw because of all the extra work involved. I use JPG fine and use the function "shadows and highlights" in photoshop elements for the darker areas. That does the job just as well. Good one of this rascal. Hope these fellows will not destroy the reds.

This Image would never have rendered with a Jpeg...The amount of noise in the shadows would have been impossible to correct using that tool..You can't beat the RAW format...R.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Oh yeah, raw to the rescue. Adobe Photo Shop is so versatile. What is this grey squirrel doing over there? You should have shot it to protect the...oops, I forgot-no guns over there. Anyway how did he get there? Durn thing must have escaped from my suitcase when I came over. None the less, a grrrrrrrreat rescue.

Unfortunately as I live down South I haven't seen a red since I was boy, more's the pity. Interesting to read about Polecats in Scotland, their doing the UK a fine service. (o:

I always shoot in RAW (NEF for Nikon bodies), Richie. One has to edit the image for converting it into a downloadable format, but my experience is that far better results can be achieved rather than when captured in the JP(E)G format.

Excellent capture. Optimal result thanks to your editing skills as well!

Yes RAW is the way to go, I totally understand the advantage of using it. R. You sure did a good job saving this one. I did not know that about the greys, humans do more bad than good when introducing new plants, and animals to a new environment.
