This was taken nearly 3 years ago in Canada. As you can see there is still ice in the river. When I got within 100 yards of the river the temp droped 15 degrees. That amazed me and then the falls bewildered me. I hope you all enjoy this shot. I used some Orton effect to practice for the upcoming contest.

Really a great shot and I've never been there when there's ice, but have been there many times. We go during the summer/fall for the fabulous wines down in that area

This is great. I love the trees in the foreground. They really pop against the background. The photo has a wonderful feel to it.

Both are invalid in context but voting is done out of context.
So far as critique in context I feel the center of the shot is where the action is and cropping off both ends would make for a more dynamic and exciting shot. The dark area on the lower right is distracting in an image with so much beautiful and bright sky and water. After cropping it out I feel it would be necessary to trim the other side just to give good balance to the shot. What do you think?
