Despite all the various angles, this shot is tied together very well. The zigzagging hedgerows lead the eye to the back, the mountains lead it to the right, and the building completes the circuit. Kudos for an extremely good photo!
The slightly soft focus and grainy appearance gives this a sense of depth and texture normally associated with film photography. I really like the perspective here, with the structure in the foreground allowing the viewer to get a truer sense of the vast distance in this capture.
Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Chris, thought at first sight that it was the same castle as in your 'caste 4' image of last summer. Can see the difference in style between both images. I agree with Bob's comment above. Whether a touch of HDR or a manipiulated (some higher) contrast. Very nice image anyhow.
