This is the world famous Lovell Radio-Telescope at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire, North-West England. This telescope has been at the forefront of space explotation since it was built in the mid to late 1950's. It was the main tracker of Sputnik and used extensively in all the development of the Moon Landing programme.

Wonderful pano. Is Sputnik still going around, I remember it from the 60's. You could see it with you own eyes.
