This is the Jodrell Bank radio telescope set on the Cheshire Plain about 35 miles east of "Glorious" New Brighton. This is the main telescope and it is the third largest steerable radio telescope in the world.

This is a phenomenal photograph, Steve! The clarity is so crisp that it's practically 3-D when viewing it. Really beautiful!

Sigh ... I want a big telescope. Or my own Hubble! :)

Its a fine photo Steve - the darkish sky gives the telescope a glow. I like your title :)
I was interested to read your link. I knew of Jodrell Bank of course but not very much. I remember when as a child even being told about it but I thought for years it was Dodderel Bank.
Will add to the BWC pronto, thank you

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Very good B&W capture of this impressive construction and technical/electronic wonder, Steve.
Good entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge, my friend.
