"You think I'm insane?" said Finnerty. Apparently he wanted more of a reaction than Paul had given him.
"You're still in touch. I guess that's the test."
"Barely - barely."
"A psychiatrist could help. There's a good man in Albany."
Finnerty shook his head. "He'd pull me back into the center, and I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center." He nodded, "Big, undreamed-of things - the people on the edge see them first."

"Things don't stay the way they are," said Finnerty. "It's too entertaining to try to change them."

"Almost nobody's competent, Paul. It's enough to make you cry to see how bad most people are at their jobs. If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in the kingdom of the blind."

~~ Kurt Vonnegut ~~ "Player Piano"

John - If there is a place to recenter oneself, this is it. A contemplative walk on this path, amidst these trees aglow in fall colors can be very restorative. A beautiful photo. Thad

Mmmmmmm! what a wonderful place! I can feel the leaves crunching under my feet ever so softly in the silence within these trees. No one else there. There is a kind quiet here.
You have brought Autumns touch to us all. It's very beautiful.
And the quote, once again, as per always, is absolutely magnificent. I love "I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center." Thank you...so much. V

My computer went belly up and I won't have a new one until Friday. I apologize for using a canned comment but the monitor on this laptop makes every thing look dull.

I pride myself on the personal evaluations of each photo on which I leave comments. For now please accept my apology because faulty equipment make it impossible to leave a fair critique.

Get used to this disclaimer because it will be the one I use to let you know I have viewed you latest post. I won't be posting until I recover my files and load them on the new computer.

Love the title John and it fits the image perfectly. All the trees leaning in from the right as if they're trying to take up the centre ground. This has a really nice dynamic feel to it, terrific composition.
