The Pyramids of Mandebulbia

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
~~ Mark Twain

I like your title...hehe...Cool and deep work here John! The lighting is off about midway straight across. Did you let it render completely? The design is beautiful!!!

There is no rendering other than the light source.

Too late for that. This ship has sailed. j/k You did this with Mandelbulb, huh? Really pretty and Aztec looking subject, but if we listen to them there won't be any twenty years from now 'cause the world's going to end in 2012. I like the color contrast of blue and amber.

I get Nelson Mandela and Howie Mandel confused so how am I going to understand this beauty Shads. You always take us on an intellectual journey with your posts. Trouble is we don't always realize it. :) A true beauty and a great quote from one of my favorites.

So is this is what happens when you design by committee? A very creative looking design John and wonderful quote. Beautiful colours, textures and details in the image, I like the lighting and shadows. The line running across the background seems a bit distracting.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . Sounds good in theory, but I can't afford to go to Mandelbulbia. Maybe I should go on a TV quiz show and try to win a trip there. LOL. Excellent imagery, John.

I'm amazed at what people are creating with Mandelbulb 3D as I'm still trying to figure out the program for 2 months now. I see a large mast ship setting sail to unknown lands. The image as a whole as a sense of mystery to it. I like the moon shape too. Excellent work, John.

John - Oh my - this is superb! Great imagery. I think the dramatic change of lighting in the image is part of its power. In my office when working, and now my study, I had an antique-looking sign that simply stated, 'Dare', as a reminder to do what Twain encourages for all of us. Thad

WAOOOH what a great terrific atmosphere, like in a horror show. Clouds passing in the front of the moon, or an imaginative planet, is a good idea, it's the reality detail. very good composition too.

A wonderful computer abstract, John! I like the geometric shapes, colors, and illumination in this image. Fascinating patterns, as well. And some great words to live by! Well done.
