I remember him Cornelius. This a very nice shot against the bright sky showing the hero in silhouette.

A powerful image, especially for people like us who've spent a lot of time at sea. Sometimes, solid land is only a temporary home for the sea-goer as life goes on, underway. The silhouette against the setting sun is beautiful and I particularly like the "line" hanging from his hands. Bravo, Cornelius.

I remembered your first post and like that one this is different but still amazing ,just love the setting sun and how it is running through the sea towards you and the light and colour tones are breath taking .I love how the sunlight is playing on parts of the wall and walk round area and lightly down the right of the statue as well. And the to ships in the scene are in perfect balance to the statue too.And not to for get looking back it this wounderful scene a great looking cloud formation as well.10/10

Splendid shot of our maritime friend gazing out toward the sea in silhouette Cornelius - love the way in which you positioned the sun as though it were a spotlight shining directly on him. Great Capture!!!!!!!!

I love this capture of him looking out and the setting sun - it has a very nostalgic feel.
Super shot Cornelius.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Ol' Hans looks pretty good in silhouette. I liked the first shot and I like this one too. They are both top notch works from you, Mr. C.

Oh my, I love the angle and such marvelous colour tones and silhouettes, plus the way the sun is making the water shimmer in the reflection. Thanks for the link, I truly like both and this one you gave us a little bit different angle

Very striking silhouette!

Reading about the person who is portrayed...both images together show that Frans Naerebout was a dedicated harbor pilot, who watched over the harbor both day (link) and night.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
