Rotterdam, the second largest city of The Netherlands, has many faces.

After the historic city center was largely destroyed by a German war bombing in 1940, Rotterdam has become a cradle for innovative architecture, including the Erasmus Bridge, the Cube Houses and a large number of skyscrapers, the Market Hall, and so on.

The city is also known for its art-loving character. For example, the Sculpture Route on the Westersingel is part of the so-called Cultural Axis in Rotterdam. There are 17 international statues along the route. One of them is depicted here: 'Het Afscheid' (The Farewell) made in 1955 by Umberto Mastroianni.

Again your expertise in composition shines through - its a great photo.
I went to Rotterdam once.1966. It was a port of call so a short visit. I remember delicious chocolate :) I wish I'd taken more interest in the architecture. (Youth is wasted on the young)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
